Proclamation of the Darbar

Be it known to all who approach these 489 kanals, whether on foot, by arrangement, or entirely by accident —

That every visitor shall be received as a rehmat, and that a rehmat is not sent away quickly;
That chai shall be offered without limit, and declined without consequence;
That the Gaddi is a seat of honour, a seat of duty, and above all a seat, of which there are presently not enough;
That all offerings of imaginary livestock shall be received with gratitude and recorded in two columns;
That no matter shall be concluded where a committee might instead be formed;
And that the authority of this Darbar extends precisely as far as people are willing to go along with it, which has so far proved sufficient.

The Darbar maintains four ranks of honorary appointment, each conferring privileges of escalating significance and diminishing practical use. Applications are assessed by committee, then by a second committee.

Entry-level honorary membership. The cushion is thin but the recognition is real.

Twenty-four Articles govern life on these 489 kanals. Each was adopted in response to a specific incident the Darbar prefers not to revisit.

Article 002
Rukhsati
Visitors are always free to leave, at any time, without permission or explanation. The Hospitality Committee nevertheless reserves the ceremonial right to say "Ek chai aur?" up to seventeen times.
On the eighteenth, the Committee must step aside and wave politely. This limit is absolute.
Article 005
Financial Transparency
Any person enquiring after the fictional accounts shall be immediately appointed Chief Auditor of the Missing Files Department, with full honours and no files.
The appointment is permanent and may not be declined, resigned from, or discussed.
Article 004
Gaddi Disputes
All major Gaddi disputes shall be resolved through a best-of-three Ludo championship, presided over by the Supreme Ludo Arbitration Commissioner.
Minor disputes are resolved by seniority. Seniority is itself a major dispute.
Article 007
Darbar Currency
The official imaginary currency of the Darbar is the 489 Coin, backed by absolutely nothing except ceremonial optimism.
The exchange rate is fixed at one 489 Coin to one 489 Coin, and has held firm since inception.
